The electronic conductivity meter measures the conductivity of water, which indicates the amount of dissolved minerals in the water. The more the water contains dissolved mineral salts, ions, or impurities (calcium, magnesium, sodium, chlorides, nitrates, etc.), the higher its conductivity.
Why is this important?
Conductivity is the invisible mirror of your water: the lower it is, the purer your water is and the more suitable it is for your most demanding needs.
- Water quality: low conductivity means pure water (such as osmosis or demineralized water).
- Sensitive applications: essential in aquariums, industry, laboratories, food production, as well as boilers and steam generators.
- Quick control: measured in µS/cm (microsiemens per centimeter), conductivity is a simple indicator for monitoring the efficiency of a water treatment system (softener, reverse osmosis unit, purifier...).
It will be particularly useful for checking the purity of your water and, at the same time, the proper functioning of your purification system.
This conductivity meter works by detecting the level of ions present in the water or solution, which is directly related to its ability to conduct electricity. By measuring this conductivity, the device can estimate the concentration of dissolved solutes in the solution.
With this device, conductivity is expressed in ppm (1 ppm ≈ 2 µS/cm). Additional temperature display in °C.
Example:
- Tap water: 400–800 µS/cm or 200–400 ppm
- Osmosis water: 5–50 µS/cm or 2.5–25 ppm
- Deionized water: < 1 µS/cm or < 0.5 ppm
